Hastings Country Park September Walkshop
Learn the bird sounds of early autumn and join a guided coastal walk.
Friday 10th September 2021
In this half-day outdoor workshop we will explore how to identify common resident, clifftop and autumn migrant birds on the spectacular edge of Hastings.
The ‘walkshop’ includes:
Before the day, access to step-by-step audio lessons on how to identify 5 key species - stonechat, Dartford warbler, yellowhammer, linnet and chiffchaff - by sound.
A gentle 2.5-hour walk around the Hastings Country Park.
Potential species encountered will include the five ‘targets’ above, plus peregrine, wheatear, yellow wagtail, robin, blackbird, song thrush, dunnock, common finches, crows & tits and common warblers.
Tea, coffee and cake, and a sit-down Q&A session to end the morning.
Easy access by bus, bike or car.
Small group size (maximum 8 participants).
Starts 8am, finishes 12 midday.
At least 10% of ticket revenue will go to a local wildlife conservation project.
This walkshop is led by Charlie Peverett.
